how wuld i got by hooking up my tweeters in my car??? i already tried hooking it up + - on the front speakers but nothing happens what am i doing wrong........by the way i am goint + to + and - to - 95 max

What kinda system do you have? Did you hook up the tweeter by itself or a component system? If the latter, did you check to make sure the capacitors in the crossover aren't disconnected? Did you check the fader and/or balance settings? Does the old speaker work in the same hookup?

Sounds like he's trying hook up tweeters by wiring in parallel to his front speakers...He should get sound but doesn't.

hockeyghst: Though you should get some sound out of the tweets, I'd advise against this type of setup without a crossover or inline bass blocker.
You're changing the overall impedance of that speaker channel. This can have a minor or significant impact depending on your setup...

I'm thinking of adding tweeters to my 96 GXE (non-Bose). I'd like to know what I should look for if it's an aftermarket one, such as Ohms (4 Ohms?), type of magnet, frequency response, power handling, etc.

If you decide to go with tweeters, you need a dedicated amp to power them, that is, if you care about good bass response and quality sound.

I don't think I would ever consider components without an amp...I've really discovered that it makes a world of a difference.
