Fix a sub?

Fix a sub?

Has anyone here ever tried to fix a sub. I can see the wire that is broken on the voice coil. I think it could be solderd?

Anyone ever done this???

I have Boston G2's DVC......

yea it can be soldered not sure how much of the tinsel leadsyou can actually see though, however i cant say its going to be a permanent fix, because most likely it will just break again. Btw id check the gains on your amp bc tinsels shouldnt just break

I wasted my life trying to fix my Pg subs' tinsel leads...send it back 4 a recone, or sell that bish for cheap.

mmm, yea, its the tinsel wire that it closest to the center of the sub.. Will be really hard to get at inless i take the sub apart. I was just looking at it... Dosnt really seem like there is a way to take it apart. I have already used up my warranty on these. Wonder what there fix it price would be.

if you're skilled enough with the soldering iron, as long as you can see it, it can pretty much be done, but its just going to happen again. Just save and get a new sub....

The trick is to wrap some copper wire around both pieces of the lead to hold them together, then you can get some solder to hold it. Most of the tinsel leads are not copper, and they have a real hard time holding solder without help.
