First of all, go with a better deadening material.

Secondly, top and bottom of the rear deck and the wheel well area the spare tire area and floor are really important, and of course the trunk lid - basically the entire trunk

ive heard pretty good reviews on them, plus their cost effiecient. i have the bose package if that means anything. take off all that under and above the decklid and put the deadener. i ahve the elite package so for now, ive driven with that center console trunk access down to help the air outflow. waht would you recommend thats pretty good/cost efficient as well? thanks

I used SecondSkin Damplifier only $187 for 80ft worth great deal.

Don't go cheap on the deadener or you'll regret it. You may find yourself re-applying it within a year. Especially if it's the peeln'seal kind of stuff. Edead is also not butyl based...well their new stuff is, but you won't find it on ebay. Most of them are tar based and smell like hell.

Well for the 5.5 gens it would be the rear deck where the bose sub woofer goes. Not too sure if it's the same on the 6th gens, but it's generally a good idea to deaden the rear deck too.

between the rear deck shelf and the actual cosmetic cover is the worst. Regardless of amount of subs or none at all actually installed on the shelf itself. Deading will help the vibration of the metal portion, but will do little to nothing for them slapping against each other...

I agree, my alti does that pretty bad now but I'll be re-doing all of that when I begin my new setup.

i used rammat in my 5.5 as well...trunk lid, rear deck, and front two doors...60sqft to do all of that with a couple of layers on the front doors. stuff worked great and was easy to work with. im definately using it again on my infiniti this summer. if you check some of the audio forums you can usually find a deal on some...good luck with your project
