Best Palm OS OBD II scanning software ?? (ELM327 interface)
Best Palm OS OBD II scanning software ?? (ELM327 interface)
I just received a ELM327 OBD II Interface Scanner and loaded Scantool.net software on my laptop. It operates flawlessly. Exactly what I wanted. I am going to try Digimoto Lite tonight. I've been told it is much better.
Now, I am getting my hands on an older Palm M105 and will be using this as my scanner display instead of the laptop for ease of mobility and smaller size. I plan on using OBDGauge (free), but was wondering if there are any other software packages out there, prefereably freeware/shareware that are good and or Palm OS compatible?
Any recommendations would be great!
Thanks!

So no one is running a ODB II interface to a laptop, PDA, or Carputer?
This suprises me, especially the guys with Carputers.
This is an awesome diagnostic, data logging, and dyno tool.

I've searched and found nothing for PDA's except ODB Gauge. Was hoping there were other software packages that people preferred for PDA's. Especially open source/no charge versions.
As far as how much it cost?
Well, I went with the serial interface. They offer a USB and a Bluetooth, but from a cost effective perspective I decided on the serial version since older PDA's only work with serial, NO PDA will work with external USB devices and newer PDA's w/Bluetooth are too much.
Cost:
ODB II Serial Interface Adapter....$116 shipped
Palm M105 PDA.........................$19 shipped
Software (so far)......................FREE
----------------------------------------------
Total as of now........................$135
Oh and I already had a laptop, so that is not factored in, nor will it be since I will be using the PDA primarly. Portability kicks a$$!

that is the main post i recall when you said ELMS to me
i told you there are only liek 5 threads about this. all like in 2005 autotap. auterra digimoto. shows you how long digimoto is in the game.
couple of customer guys down in texas and thats about sums it up now there a more but i mean they are all the same.
i was looking at a digimoto + palm about 3-5 months ago when i wanted to do some scan tool stuff because i was doing side jobs out in michigan but i moved back home and forgot about it. i think it was 150$ when i look at it and everyone else was 200$ for the kit and 50$ per software. now digimoto lite is free. now there was a website i came along that listed all palm program scan tool stuff, it came from a white simple html written site. home made most likely and had the whole list of all freeware programs to try.

That was the one I got links to download the laptop software. I have also installed the ODB Gauge on the Palm. It's good, but I was hoping to find newer software than from 2005 for the PDA. Maybe it's good enough and not much ahs changed since then. If so, I will be content.
I was looking for something similiar to the Nology PDA Dyno or Auterra Dyno, but w/o the price tag.
that link looks like a cleaned up version of it. Palm are old school now. There are windows mobile version of of scan tool software out. And its just about everything with laptops everything is extremely portable i wouldn't be suprized. 2005 was the peak of this.
