Look what the mailman brought me.....
$5 e-dollars for anybody who can name it
I'll be using an older RF 250w RMS amp, but I hear it's underrated. Recommended box size is between .25 cu ft to 1 cu ft. I'm thinking somewhere around .75, but am not sure yet. Any thoughts on box size?

I tried searching the DIYMA forum, but couldn't find anything, so I'll ask here.
I was told there is a break-in procedure for this/any sub. I never did anything like this on my old subs, and was wondering what you guys did for the burn-in/break-in process? Tips?
EDIT- From what I just found, it seems people recommend playing the sub at low volumes for anywhere between 20-50 hours. Is this similar to what you guys have heard?

My best guess is that it will get about 350-400, based on the birth sheet from that amp. As far as I can tell, he wants optimum output from the sub without severely compromising quality.
Nick has selected the speaker package that you recommended to me. I just cheaped out on it.

Different drivers perform differently in different sized enclosures.
My sp12 for instance is meant for a ported box but it sounds phenomenal in a 1.25 cu ft sealed box. Again it's not even recommended to be used sealed.
Some drivers will like less air space some will require a lil more, this is all vs the manufacturer's spec..... Some will sound better with less (generally not the case) and most/many will sound better with larger than recommended enclosures.

Thanks, guys. I have a 1.25 per side sealed box that I was going to cut in half and give to nick. I can just cut a little more than half off of it and put a new endcap on it.
Nothing beats "free" when it comes to enclosures!
