Can free hanging Radio Wires kill battery?

Im not good with radios and what have you so I don't know. Radio stolen, wires left dangling, car running through batteries.

Just want to confirm whether or not this is possible.

Thanks,
Capitone

You might want to insulate any exposed wires.

Will do.

Should there be a concern with the HOT wire not being grounded through a radio? Provided there is no source attached, there shouldn't be any draw on power right? A little electrical tape and things should be cool until another radio's installed is what Im thinking.

A hot wire will cause a short if comes in contact with the metal frame inside the dash.

A short where? The overall electrical system? Should be checking fuses now?

For GP, what color is typically the hot wire? Aren't there two?
