2 unrelated questions..

1. my rear passenger side BLOSE speaker just quit working the other day, one of my friends was in the back seat and just noticed the difference and when i faded and balanced all the sound to that speaker it was dead. how can i check to see if the speaker is blown or just a disconection of wires or something?

2. will 6 3/4 speakers fit in the doors and/or rear deck of a 4th gen with no modifications or will only 6 1/2's fit?

1. Look under rear deck and see if it is not connected.

2. Either will work.

I edited the statement. I was typing w/o thinking. same thing applies. If it is hooked up and not playing, it is either blown or that amp no longer works.

One way to test it, disconnect the other speaker, run a short length of speaker wire from the one that works to the speaker that isn't working. If it still isn't working, see above.
