What alarm to go with???
What alarm to go with???
although i dont have a maxima anymore, i do still have a nissan(well infiniti g35 coupe) but im looking for a good alarm...one with a pager(hopefully a loud pager) that actually works and works well... I park my car most of the time in a condo complex not really close to where my unit is...The car has lojack...but i want something for rim protection, level sensors sensetive enough for the wheels to trigger it if tampered... along with the normal alarm features........... any input id appreciate it....

I like the viper 5900 w/ 1 mile range. It has a pager w/ LCD screen. But its only 1-mile with no interference such as buildings. In that case it wont work. If I could do it all over again I would go w/ the viper 791 w/ 1/4 mile range...its still good enough for me
I had a viper 771, which is identical to the 791 minus the LCD remote, still a pager just no LCD, and still includes the remote start.. Loved it in my altima, but when I bought my maxima it had a viper 791 already installed. I sent it out to Directed Electronics (who makes viper) when I removed it from my altima, and they sent me a brand new system as far as wires and brain goes. Still have it if your interested. Also has 2 remotes, bought an extra just in case, and motion sensor, which creates a "forcefield" for lack of a better word lol, around your car, which is adjustable for sensitivity and distance around the car you want protected. The alarm was $379, extra remote was $140, and the motion sensor was $100. I'd let it go reasonably cheap.
does the clifford have a pager feature?... ive always had the clifford g4/g5 systems but neither had a pager and thats a key point of interest due to the fact i park far enough from where i sleep.... does the viper u mentioned for sale does it do good with proximity? basicly the wheels? and does it have a tilt senor? incase the car was jacked up in any way? or can it be added?.... let me know....and how much u want for it....feel free to PM me...... oh and my wheels are asanti 3 peice rims...so yea they do cost a pretty penny is why im so concerned with them.....

the proximity is the motion sensor, and that's why I got the sensor I had $3000 19" wheels. and it has the tilt sensor, pager, everything your looking for. I'd say maybe $250 for it all, cost me $620. let me know via email to my treo, gnmcnally@aol.com.

ok, well, same distance as far as the pager goes, same options, still a 6 channel remote, still pages you if the alarms going off and lets you know if your car has started when you use the remote start, only noticable difference is the LCD. Just as good of a system as the 791, and it was close enough for me lol
Clifford Matrix 12 or Viper 5002 Responders.
With remote start ... Clifford RS50.5 for the range, or the lower modeled RS3.5. Of course Viper counterparts 5900/791 will perform equally well.
The DEI 508D perimeter sensor can be paired with any of the above for added security.

Well according to the people at Directed Electronics, who would obviously know more then either of us, even if you do know more about the systems then me, the distance is 1/4 mile on both systems. And the remote from a 771 Functions with the 791 system, so it cant be too far off. All I know is, I loved my 771, and like I said, the only reason i'm not using it is because I have the 791 in my car, came installed in it, and I dont notice a difference in response time at all. They are both great systems.
