Generally speaking, that is not true. However, it depends on the current speaker wiring guage/quality and what speakers/amp you are going to be using. Basically, if you are going to use some nice speakers that will use a fair bit of power, replacing the speaker wiring is a good idea, because the stock isn't very good quality/thickness. But if you're gonna use some lower end speakers running from deck power, I doubt you'd need to replace the speaker wires.

what the dude was prolly trying to say is that you would have to replace the whole system, which IS true. u cant get aftermarket speakers with the BOSE HU unles you buy an adapter kit for like 40- 50 dollars.. and as far as the clip u would have to also buy an adapter for those *possibly from radioshack* as well.

You DO NOT have to replace the WHOLE system. Domo is wrong.

You can wire up new speakers with the bose HU you just have to have an amp.

You can also keep the blose speakers and install a new head unit.

If you can't find the clip, you could just cut it off and solder the speaker wires to the speaker, with some heat shrink tubing perhaps.

In addition to nismos's criticism of Domo's post,

Radio Shack will NOT have what you are looking for. You'd have to go back to that audio shop to get the adapter, or, the easiest and cheapers would be to cut the connector off and solder wire. If you don't want to cut it, then splice in some more wire and extend it so it can connect to the speaker.
