I am looking to install a new head unit and some amps in my car ( 96 GXE, stock radio), I have never done an installation before, but do have a clue as to what I am doing

I don't want to F-up my car, but I really would like to try this. Are there any guides that I can use to help me do this? I think I will need help in the areas of, connecting/finding the right wires, running the wires, gauge of wires and making it look neat. can anyone steer me in the right direction, or should I just shell out the Cheddar?

Ya, www.maximadriver.com
I have a couple writeups on there on how to install a HU and speakers, and another on on installing an amp. Good place to start at least....
