I have an '89 max and the blose has to go, i'm down to 2 speakers now, lol. Anyway, I obviously need to buy a new headunit and speakers, but i have a few questions. I know the rears are 6x9's, but what about the front door speakers? Can i re-use those pods that the blose speakers were in or do i have to remove them? What size speakers to use? Also, will i be able to use all the wiring that is already in the car, or will i have to run new wires from the head unit to the speakers? I'm pretty good with audio installs so i would like to do this myself to save money, but i have a feeling i will need all the help and info i can get! Also, if anybody has any suggestions on brands let me hear 'em. I'm thinking alpine for the headunit, as for speakers i really don't know, c'mon all you audio guru's!

The front speakers are stock size 4", the pods are hard to reuse but i got a set of RF p series components and put the crossover in the amp spot. As far as wiring you can use the same wiring, you just have to tap into the speaker leads off the unit and do not use the the power and ground for the BOSE amps. I had all this in my 3rd gen, RF 6x9 2-ways in the rear and the components in the front. go to the webpage for some pictures.
