Need help choosing an amp

Well I just bought 2 Infinity Perfect DVQ 12"s off of GriffinW here on the Org.. and they really sound and look fantastic. However, my amp isn't giving them as much power as they can handle, and I really wanna buy a new one..

My question is, what am I looking for in an amp? I've read numerous guides and things but they really just make me realize that I know nothing about amps and the related stuff.. lol

Here's the specs of each sub:
  • Dual 4 ohms impedance
  • Peak Power Handling: 1600 watts
  • RMS Power Handling: 400 watts
  • Frequency Response: 23 Hz - 400 Hz
  • Sensitivity: 92 dB
This tells me I need an amp that pushes about 800rms ? Correct me if i'm wrong, and can someone recommend one? Also, these are 'dual voice coil' or w/e and have 4 terminals on each speaker, is there any special sequence to wire these in?

Thanks for any help,
-Mike

i see that you're a member over here too

whats your budget for this amp?

as for the power, ideally you want something that will provide close to the rms rating for the sub. having more power is fine too, that'll just leave you with some headroom and the amp wont have to work as hard to produce the desired power.

More power is a positive, it iwll give you headroom and allow your amp to run cooler.

There are 2 ways you can wire them and here are pics of how:

Give your budget and someone can recommend you amps in the price range you are looking to spend.
