Any crossover can work with any unit.

I'm not sure what changed between the jvc avx 706 and avx 800 other than making it a touchscreen and higher voltage preouts, but mine has custom settings for eq (I have 3 custom ones stored). I also have level adjustment and distance adjustment. There is flexibility in their older unit (706). Not to mention it's a lot easier to carry around and put songs on a 4GB SD cards instead of dvd. The screen on the avx800 looks like absolute crap in comparison the avx706.
