In the doors, sail panels, kick panels, the list goes on.

If your maxima is from 1998, i would just dremel out the factory tweeter position and place it in there.

Do you have tweeter holes?
If so yes, just pup them out and I think you may have to cut them a lil to it fits.

OIC...But you don't have to take off the door panel to see if you have holes for the tweeter, You should see a grill above the door handles on the inside of thecar

ya i dont have those its just a stock maxima, it doesnt have the bose system. i thought yal were saying it sort of has a pre-hole thingy on the inside the door panel so when at the factory the installers know where to put it.

I have been putting my tweeters on the A pillars for 10+ years now. It is the best for imaging IMO. I mount them with silicon, so removal leaves no holes or marks, except some faded plastic.

I am recently starting to hear about people putting small midranges up there also like the Legatia3. That is something I would love to hear before I attempt it.

Yeah, seen someone that won world sq finals with that type of setup; that would be a challenge to accomplish tho but the wonders of fiberglass. I have some mb quarts tweets fiberglassed into my A pillars at about eye level.

The distance between the A pillar tweeter mount, and the woofers in the door is killing me! Maybe I chose the wrong speakers for the job. Polk Audio MMC-6500.

Anyway, does anyone know if I am retarded for sending the (RF Punch 500.2)amp'd signal directly to the woofer in the door, and having the crossover feed the tweeter? I am trying to "fill" the gap, so to speak, so any 100-200+ hz I can get coming out of that woofer, the better...

Upon reception of suggestions, much appreciation will follow.

I have a set of MMC650 but I separated the tweeters from the woofer. I got very good sounds by mounting the tweeters on the A pillar.

MMC6500 is twice expensive compared with MMC650. I talked with a Polk tech over the phone. The guy told me that MMC6500 was expensive because a lot of efforts were spent on developing the crossovers. The crossovers for 6500 are very, very good. You should send the signal through the XO to the woofer. Add a subwoofer if you want the sounds at a lower frequency.

X2, also get a dash mat, it has been suggested by many competitors to battle early deflections...Play with phase as well since you are running passive and can't apply time alignment to each individual woofer/tweeter...

I have been toying with the idea for a while, and I will finally do it by the end of this month...3 inch full range drivers fiberglassed on the A pillars...stay tuned
