Help! 2001 Maxima dash kit problem

Hi guys,
I have a dash kit in my maxima gle but there is an issue with a space (one inch) between the ac/heater unit and the kit. The top vent doesn't want to go in aswell. I have gotten 2 other kits with the same result. If the radio was mounted an inch lower it might then work but there are no other holes in the bracket. Is there another special dask kit that I need or that I need to do?

This is bassically the kit i have but another brand.

Agreed. Sounds like the HU isn't mounted in the right holes. They usually line right up. If it's an inch off, that's definitely installation error.

Looked again on the holes on the radio. It is mounted on the upper set. Actually, I miss judged the gap...More like a 1/4 inch. Is there only one dash kit for both bose and non bose?

The metra one is decent and fits 99.9% Maybe because you didn't pick up a genuine Metra the fitment is off by that 1/4". Try picking up a genuine one if you're sure your installation is right.

Or of course, do it the easiest (but not the cheapest) way and get a GXE kit and a spare pocket.
