AVN5500 Backup Camera Help

Ok so i have the AVN5500 with the bec106 backup camera (back eye camera) installed on a 2002 maxima. I have everything hooked up and it works fine. Im trying to figure out if it is possible to get the unit to switch to the camera when i put the car in reverse. Is there some cable that i need to splice/connect to? Thanks in advance for your input folks!

there should be a reverse wire on the brain. Im not sure on the exact location of the wire but im sure you can find it at the taillights by testing each wire you will find the reverse signal.

when u say "on the brain" are you referring to the clip end that connects into the head unit? are you saying that there is a wire within the camera wiring that needs to be spliced into the wire that triggers the reverse lights? thanks in advance

coming from the headunit there should be a Green wire, which is your reverse signal. You need to connect that Green wire to the Reverse wire located at the tail lights.

Damn wish I saw this earlier...
There is a reverse wire in the driverside kick panel. green wire. =P

Looks like you got it working though so that's good.

Just curious...where did you mount yours?
I mounted mine here:

I can't believe after searching this forum all lastnight, this was the only thread that came close to answering this question. Like no one here has installed a navi and had this question come up or something. blah...

I think most people just tap the reverse wire from the tailights.

I would seriously prefer not to run the reverse signal all the way back there. i'm still looking with the hopes that Don will answer here before I find it.
