Hey guys, I need some advice. I am replacing my stock non bose system. I already have a new Alpine X001 HU. I am wondering about speaker selection for the car. I am not doing any bass but would like a nice sound from my hi's and mids' and a little bass with them would not hurt. I was thinking of some infinitiy's 6.5's with a small amp? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know..........I just ordered it online and it has not arrived yet.

 

I heard from my alpine rep that it is possible, but he couldnt say how for safety reasons obviously. Im on the same quest right now as I just installed mine last week. If I find out, I'll be sure to post it here..
And are you amplifying your speakers? If not, alpine type s are very good speakers for just off of the deck. But my best recommendation would be to go to a car audio shop, screw the salesmen, and then listen to the speakers individually.

 

The alpine X001 cannot, under normal circumstances play video.
When the menu comes up, you have everything within the music folder and thats it.
No video option...however there has to be a way...at least i hope.
Wish i woulda thought more before buying this head unit...its cool and the ipod control is fabulous, but it ends there...my biggest bug with it is that the eq control is absolute poop, your options arre veryyyyy limited without a 1/2 din eq
