is there an How to for hardwiring radar?

Yes, finally bought a Valentine One and i want to hardwire it. I wanna position the radar right below the rearview mirror and run the wires from the top, through the pillar and into the glove box. Was just wondering if anyone had a write up that i can follow. I would much rather see/read a write up than cracking my plastic pillar or damaging something in the car!

The only problem with the setup above the rear view would be the tinted part of the windshield. I don't know how much it matters but the radars usually specify not to have it be blocked by the tinted section or windshield wipers. Just a heads up.

Yup,this can be done.Just tap into the cigarette lighter. If you cant do it,try Circuit City. They will charge you like 35.00 to do it.

A word of caution thou....make sure when you cut the plug off you know which is positive and which is negative.I dont think I need to tell you what happens if you have them wrong.

Ye im a little curious also as to what happens if you mess up the wiring. I always thought it would kill the device, basically fry the internal circuits.

Thanks for the props man! Its my write up and I was going to change the page soon. But I'm too lazy. hehehe

Brunt182, You can move the detector down a tad lower if you want. Its just for radar, but if you get hit by laser/LIDAR, you're screwed anyway.

NO prob....always ready to rep that site since it helped me choose which wire to tap.

I have mine in the tint strip area and have had NO problems with radar detection. It's more stealth up there also..you cannot see I have one from the outside.
