how do you remove the bose headunit from a 1996 4th gen maxima?
I don't know, maybe i'm blind but i've found a "how to" on removing the head units for all the different generations of maximas except for the 4th gen. I need a step by step (preferably with pictures) tutorial of how to remove a stock bose head unit from a 1996 Maxima. I've just spent the last 2hrs searching this forum, the faq's dead or wrong links, and tech articles on various car audio sites. I am coming up empty. Can anyone help me out?

- Remove trim panel around shifter
- Unplug cigarette lighter if necessary
- Remove one screw and pull ashtray out, set aside
- Pull bottom of trim piece holding hazard / defog buttons and upper vents (pops out). The directions I read said to remove it completely, mine comes out enough at the bottom to reach the screws behind it.
- Remove four screws (two top, two bottom) to release CC & radio assembly.
- Pull assembly away from dash.
- Unplug all wiring harnesses / antenna wires.
- Flip assembly over and remove four screws holding the trim panel to the metal bracket.
- Remove screws on each side of radio (mine only had two, but it had been removed before, so there may be more) holding radio to bracket.
- Pull radio out through front of bracket.
