I recently purchased my 99 max se limited.... the stereo does not work...i get no reception and when i turn up volume all i get is crackles...wen i insert a cd i hear no sounds at all?

Sounds like the antenna is not connected..

 

it powers on but i can only hear fuzz/crackles wen i put on fm and then wen a cds in i hear no sound whats so ever

 

Factory or aftermarket radio? If aftermarket sounds like the power antenna wire remote lead. If factory then it sounds like antenna is either broken or not connected. Same with factory amp. Although Im guessing this is an aftermarket stereo ...
