LED INSTALLATION

I had quite a few people PM in regards to doing there switches...I started this thread so I can keep track of who wants what done to thier car.

PM me with LeD Insatallation in the subject box and then just let me know what color you wanted to do your switches gauges or whatever it is that you want done...Thanks everyone you guys and girls you are all helping me get through this semester of college lolz

Door switches (4th gen) $65 (5th gen) $70
Gauges (in progress) but looks like $20-$25 depending on the what you want done
Climate Control (4th gen) $30 (5th gen) $35
Buttons (i.e. hazard, defrost etc...) $ 10 ( a button)

Now depending on what you want done i.e door swithes and buttons you save some money. It has to be done at once to get a lower rate. If you get switches and then c.c next week it seperate. If your interested you can post here or PM. Please be sure to include what you want done and the colors you want.

6TH Gens. This gauges themselves have about 40 Leds if not more so it's going to be a lot more expensive. If your interested PM and we can discuss it from there.

to everyone

These are all from a 4th gen

Driver side switches in blue

Map Light in hyper white

Climate Control

These are were taken with cell phones so they aren't the best quality but you get an idea..I'll get better pics and different cars as I do them...Thanks guys for you interest...if you need help installing your own or need leds resistors let me know and I can put packages together for everyone.

good luck.

I tried this and had exactly 1 customer, charged less than you and put an LED in each button in the climate control so there were no hot spots at all...

i was thinking about offering my servies as well, and i have to say (from someone who knows exactly how much work is involved) some of these prices are rediculous unless they include the actual oem parts. if thats the case you shoul offer a core refund and have ppl send you theirs back.

I did my front doors last year w/ white LEDs. I can't remember the size but I do know they were the same size as the stock ones, but they were nice and white and the front doors are much nicer/brighter now.

HOWEVER, I would really have my rear doors done but I'm scared to mess around w/ the SMT LEDs

But I'll think about it over the weekend and I'll see... Plus I want my CC and haz/defr done w/ the same LEDs as in my doors so ... yeah... I'll have to see!

how did you guys get the defroster and the AC LED's (that used to be green) to glow. I put new LEDs on (red for the defroster and blue for the AC button) but for some reason they refuse to light up. I have another red on the front defroster and blues for the rest and they have no problems lighting up. I have it apart again in front of me and I can't figure it out. there is definitely solid connection on all the solder joints. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

no its gonna be hard to solder them because it's copper so it doesn't "catch"..I just fabed something up with the lil rubber thing that was on there...also are you putting a resistor...that might be why it doesn't light up...it blowing as soon as it get current.

sorry I was talking about the status lights. Not the back lights. The status lights are OEM green to let you know which vents you've chosen to use. I found out that the reason my rear defrost wasn't lighting up was due to a bad LED. But the Max AC button still isn't lighting up. I'm just not sure why at this point. Check out the pics, they might explain better. Please take pity on me for the poor soldering work.

There are 2 different sized SMT's in the 6.5 gen (07) Maxima HVAC controls. I know the larger size is the PLCC-2, does anybody know what the smaller sized ones are?

LED1 I believe is a PLCC-2, but what about the 4 smaller LED's at the 2, 5, 8, and 11 o'clock positions?

Never mind, I've figured it out, and started my conversion.

Trying to add LED's to Radio

Does anyone know how to go about adding LED's to my radio? I have a 1997 SE and the radio is out of a '99 Patherfinder. It is none-Bose radio. I took the radio apart and it looks like they used reg bulbs with a blue rubber coating that gives the OEM look. My question is there doesn't seem to be enough room for the resistor and the bulb too. I have changed all of my other int lights with no problem but, this has me stumped. Do you need resistors in the radio or can you wire them up strait? Thanks in advance, Mike. below are pics.

I am sorry if this has already been answered. On the How-To's Led Needle (http://www.petah.org/maxima/gauge.htm) he specifically says 97-99, I want to do this for my 96 Maxima. is it possible? Also, I bought ten 5mm L.E.D 7000mcd 3.3v (3.6v MAX). I would like to no what resisters to buy.

From your pic, it looks like there are already LED's there. If that's the case, then they should have the resistors already on the board, so all you would have to do is swap out the LED's with the ones you want.

Use Voltage = Current * Resistance to figure out what resistor you should use.
