Sony vs Rockford fosgate.....

I have two new 12 inch MTX 6000, and I am looking for an amp to match them...I was told by a stereo installer that Sony amps are very good, and even better than Rockfords....Is this true ? Any suggestions on amp for the two 12's to pound really hard ??

If that guy told you that Sony amps are better than Rockford....he must be on something

Stick with JL Audio or Rockford amps.

Sony amps suck plain and simple. You know it's bad when a company names an amp after what it does once tested. Hence I give you the "exploid" stuff. Rockford is better than sony but I am not a fan of it. Besides nissan is now using rockford as a factory option.

Dave what are you gonna do when you leave tweeter? Will every answer still be jl audio? Every time every situation I mean damn come on J/K I'm just messin with ya.

Sony?!?!..hmm for some reason they needed to make every component screaming red.............why?..to attract some CUSTOMERS...there amp's are decent..but if your driving a max...put something high-end into it!!! Rockford amps are very inexpensive now...and put out good power!

the only reason y someone would tell u that sony amps r better then rockford is cause hes either makin more money off the sony or because he smokes crack........if i was u i would look into gettin a ZAPCO i think there better then both.....and lately ive been hearin bad things about rockford.....and from my experience zapcos are bullet proof!!......

Without a doubt zapco and brax are the best car audio amps made.

ive been talkn to one of my friends who's tryn to hook me up w/ 2-12" kicker solo barics and hes telln me the require a lot to power em, and since i dont have that much to spend he was recommending the sony xplod xm-3001sxd...he was telln me that for the price he can get the sony amp (~200), a rockford amp wont be able to match the sony; but that the upper end rockford (> $1000 amps) are awesome, but below that not too good...tru or not? also, Dave, if ur sony boxes r collecting dust, how much could u hook up the sony amp for? [if u carry it]

I'm not sure but I think retail on it is $399.00. I can find out a better price next week when I get back from vacation.

How much are you planning on spending?

You might want to consider an ESX Quantum Q2751 from Ampman (see the ESX Amp thread in this forum)

It will deliver 475W to your MTX subs at 2 Ohms which should be plenty. Price is $265 shipped from www.ampmanaudio.com...
