Went to get it installed today, modded the kit did some cutting and what not, had the unit in. Tested it out and I'm pretty sure I got a dead unit. When my car was on it would recognize my ipod and the ipod would say alpine on it, but the unit would not light up, display or anything. No fan was on, but it was charging my iPod. .

just my luck that it wouldnt work...any suggestions?

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

If there is a problem, I have to send it to my seller, they hook it up, test it, then send it to alpine to do further tests and what not, so I could be without the unit for a while

most common mistake is wiring power antenna instead of remote wire...i'm guilty of that one, was too anxious to get it workin and had to troubleshoot for almost an hour to realize my mistake...hope you get it workin!

Doesnt seem to be Alpine that 'needs to be speedy'. Perhaps you will learn from mistakes and buy authorized next time?

Theres a reason I bit the bullet and bought mine from crutchfield.....

I'm not spending close to 1k unless Mr. Alpine is behind the product.

Working for a dealer for alpine, I have to say that Alpine is 100% behind their products. We haven't had 1 single warranty claim get rejected, even those subs that get over-driven by people that don't understand what they're doin.
