Stereo Woes

I have an 03 SE with non bose HU. The CD player wont play cd's and gives the "CD ERROR F3" I wanted to keep the factory HU for the steering wheel controls so I might have to buy another off of ebay or something? Now for the speakers... The A-pillar tweeters are extremely quiet (even with treble all the way up) the front pass speaker sounds like its blown, the front driv side speaker doesnt work period. The rears sound fine tho. so here are my questions.

1. What is wrong with my CD player? Do I need a new one?
2. Will the factory non bose HU be adequate when i upgrade to aftermarket speakers?
3. Which aftermarket speakers & tweeters would you recommend that will give decent base w/ factory HU and no amp?

Throw it as far away as possible and SMILE

You can go with just a standard set of coaxes and should be just fine. Just utilize two pairs in the rear doors and fronts and should be equivalent if not slightly better than the factory setup
3. Which aftermarket speakers & tweeters would you recommend that will give decent base w/ factory HU and no amp?Personally, id say TRASH the amp and go anead and bite the bullet with a new headunit...Thats just me. But i would like at the deal don is running on the SLCs.

If it has crappy highs and lows, it's probably Bose.
