CD Issues

I have an '02 with the Bose 6 CD in dash changer. I have read a lot on the issues with this component, yet I seem to have a slightly different problem. Quite frequently the player stops, it's not like the left channel or anything cuts out, the CD stops playing and the display stops as well. Sometimes it starts right back up (the display catches up sometimes but not all), and sometimes it jumps to another disc. I often get CD ERRF3, not the F0 I have read about. Is this a wiring issue behind the HU or is the thing just a useless piece of crap? Under 50 dgrees - forget it. I am thinking about getting an aftermarket, but I like the 6 disc changer. I guess a single disc player that works is better than a 6 disc that doesn't. Any thoughts are appreciated, I'm tired of loudly singing along with a CD and having it abruptly quit, people think I'm nuts...

I have the '02 with the Bose system as well and for the most part it plays just fine, but every now and then it'll skip on cds like you described (although I haven't noticed any of the errors you've been seeing).

I'm thinking about an aftermarket as well, maybe an in-dash with a big screen for movies or music videos (would be sweet).

Let me know what you end up doing.

I've been through three 6 CD in dash players for the maxima. Very unreliable & expensive.
