My Sony WX-4500 stereo has a frequent problem where no sound is heard from any of the speakers. If I fiddle around with the right rear speaker's positive connection then all the speakers start giving sound. Why don't the other three speakers work if the right rear has a problem? The other three will work on their own if I disconnect the right rear speaker completely. I even checked the wiring from the stereo at the dashboard to make sure everything was connected properly.
What gives???

you have a short somewhere to that speaker, its shutting the internal sony amp down. follow the speaker lead all the way back to the radio and it will be touching metal somewhere. correct, and voila..

Either that, or its a bad speaker. If you have another speaker to test, swap it in and see if it still happens. If you don't have another speaker, swap the left rear from the right and see if it does the same thing..
