Like $400 or lower? I don't know how much a decent system cost really...

My radio is fine and I have one of those old school Mercury amps 50x2

So I need a amp and a speaker/s.

I don't want much drop just a upgrade over stock....

Subwoofer or a pair of 10s in a box whichever is more efficient.

Are you planning on using your Mercury amp on the subs? BTW, what is a Mercury amp?
You want cheap, try Craigslist. Out here in Denver it is flooded with sub boxes, amps etc.

Spend for quality up front. It's cheaper and less frustrating in the long run.

You can try http://www.millionbuy.com/

So you have a Kenwood head unit, stock door speakers and an amp?

Is this your amp?
