Budget Audio thread
So in my sisters G35 the bose speakers are not loud enough...
So while I am home I think an upgrade might be doable. I have a 7" ED sub(i know many of you don't approve) that is left over from me swapping in some ole skool Pioneers in the Max. So I would use the 7" sub in the rear deck with a 6x9 to 7" MDF adapter.
So that takes care of the sub.
But now I need some front speakers. What are some decently cheap components? Nothing special, it can even be from a local store for all I care. I have Diamond comps in my car so they don't even have to be as good/bad as those
Rear door speakers will just be some decent coaxials. Not much care about these.
Now I need a amp, I know this is important so if I want to afford a decent one, I will most likely buy a used one. I am thinking a 5 channel amp so I can power the "sub" as well.
My goals are to have a better sounding system then stock and to push out more than the stock 150w.
The head unit is a Pioneer Z2/Z3. I believe it only has 2.5v preamps but that is what I have to work with. I will run 14guage stinger speaker wires and 4 or 8 gauge power wire.
So all suggestions will be helpful. Keep in mind I will want to do this cheap as possible

scrap the rear door speakers and that will cut your number of speakers and amplification channels (cost) down.
some components that have a decent reputation while being affordable are pg rsd, blaupunkt velocity, pioneer prs, or check with don to see if he's running any specials (probably get something nicer at a good price).
there are plenty of decent budget 4 channels although nothing is popping into my head at the moment.

Nonsense ! Unless I just didnt list the more entry level ones. Hmm that could be the problem, but I can check. We do have a few other options as well and even have some decent amps on the very cheap.

yeah don... you didn't list the cheaper speakers. i need at least an oa8 and am looking a 426 coaxial set as well. wouldn't mind an ra30 to round out a dls install but i doubt i'll have the money for it.
and a celestra ra220x.
and some mw182s.
ugh.

i think those will work for what you want, although some will disagree cause of their boner status. i bought a set of the 5.25" (ftl) but never used them. looked/felt like any other budget comp. sound is supposed to be one of the best in that price bracket (take that as you will).

at the risk of saying "boner" one too many times. yup every one. from cdt to hifonics to jl to pg to rainbow to dyn i have heard somebody say "people just like them cause they're a boner, they're nothin special" every time. seems like some people got a boner for not buyin boners.
boner. boner. boner.
boner. boner. boner.

What do you guys think about the Sherwood AX6275
35W RMS x 5 and 100W RMS x 1 into 4 ohms. 50W RMS x 5 and 130W RMS x 1 into 2 ohms. Not bridgeable. Big and heavy at 22.3" x 9.5" x 2.3" and 20 pounds. S/N ratio > 95 dB, T.H.D. < 0.03%. Channels 1-5 have built in crossovers which can be set to high pass or low pass at 80Hz, 12 dB/octave, or off. Channel 6 (Subwoofer) has a fixed low pass crossover at 60 Hz, 12 dB/octave, and also a switchable 6 dB boost at 60 Hz. Fuse ratings are 20A x 2.
