Alternator whine when going through Line Driver

Finally got my SSLD6 hooked, up and i'm getting alternator whine when the music is turned down...If I hook up the RCA's directly to the amp there is no whine. is there anything i can do to prevent this???

Also to those who have have the SSLD how much louder was the output???

where did you connect the power/ground? connecting to the same points as your amp will supposedly help prevent noise.

it was connected at the amp, i was planning on connecting it off of the distro blocks but it seemed like too much work for such small wiring

Ground it somewhere else. Make sure the area is properly sanded and free of paint.

My power, ground and remote connections are at the same points as my amp's and I have no audible whine or noise floor.

Obviously your output level is going to depend on how high the gains on the SSLD6 are set.

The head unit volume runs from 0-35. Before the SSLD6 I would have to set the HU to 25 to immerse my self in the music, just barely letting outside noise in. After hooking up the SSLD6, setting the ***** to their lowest settings and running the RCA's (CORRECTLY, the 2nd time around) I started playing with the levels, didn't really notice an increase in output until about half way around, but noticed an increase in the subs before hitting the half way point. I turned it all the way up on the internal speakers, and put the subs at the lowest setting, and the HU is now set at 20 for normal listening
