Need amp advice... been out of the audio game a while

My bro gave me one of his old JL 12 W3v2-D4 and I need some help picking out an amp to run it. I haven't had to shop for amps for a few years so I was wondering what are some good, reasonably priced amps out there to run the sub? I'll probably wire it in parallel so I'm looking for something around 200W-300W @ 2 ohms.

Thanks!

*edit* sorry about the link not working...

Why not a JL 300/2 to run them?

Are JL amps worth the extra $ compared to a Alpine/Pioneer/Kenwood or similar?

What about this JL?
JL Audio G Series G1300

I dont know much about them other than the slash series... I have been running different slash series amps in different applications, and NEVER had one let me down...

No thanks. 500w @ 2ohm will be way too loud for me, plus I'm only running 1 sub.

I'm not really looking for the best amp out there but I'm always a firm believer that you get what you pay for... so middle of the road amp $200-$300 tops.

This one is really catching my eye though... great reviews & 3 year warranty.
Profile AP700M
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_489AP70...owAll=Y&tp=115
mono subwoofer amplifier
220 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (350 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
MOSFET power supply
remote-mount level control with 16-foot cable included
selectable bass boost (0-12 dB) at 45 Hz
variable low-pass filter (50-250 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
subsonic filter (20-50 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
preamp- and speaker-level inputs
preamp outputs
fuse rating: 20A x 2
4-gauge power and ground leads recommended — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
11-3/8"W x 2-1/16"H x 10-5/16"D
warranty: 3 years

I guess I could expand on my thinking... I just want a little extra bump in the car, nothing too crazy. I also have 4 gauge wire in the car already and some of the other amps I've seen take 8 gauge connections.

If you're not looking for a superior amp, but also do not want to spend $2-300, consider a kicker 300.1. it runs 300 W RMS X 1 @ 2 ohm. I ran this amp in my truck for about a year and it powered everything from a kicker solo baric 8 to a ma audio 18 without a problem.

If you can get your hands on an older punch 500 you would not be dissapointed regardless of what setup you wanted to run.

I believe Cutler is selling a JL 300/2 for $150. It's been about a month, so I'm not sure if he still has it.
