AVH-P4000DVD need help installing whole system
so i'm getting my AVH-P4000DVD today and i still have the orginal stock bose stereo that came it came with. my question is since this is not a navi but has that parking break sensor. is there a way that i can get around that so i can play dvds all the time. and also i know in the 98 i had to rewire the whole car to put the aftermarkets speakers in. with this 00 what is the best way to get to all the speakers so i can run the wires to my two amps in the back. the systems is setup like this. i have two tweeters, two components polk momo, two polk db speakers, two 10 in subs, and a 2 channel & 4 channel amp i want to put in the car to go with the headunit. planing on doing the install on friday so if any one has any recomendation or advice let me know please. i know how to install audio component just need to know whats the best way to set it up in this 00 max. since all the speakers are in the doors and none are in the rear dash the old sub was taken out b4 i got it
Wow, I almost have a headache from reading that.
Yes, ground the parking brake wire through a switch. There is no permanent bypass for this unit, so you'll have to flip the switch when you get into the car.
You definitely shouldn't have to rewire the whole car, regardless of which generation Maxima. Nissan Bose amps are very easy (8 wires in, 8 wires out), and you'll probably want to use factory wiring anyway since you won't be able to run wires through the factory grommet in the front doors. The amp on the rear deck will have all your speaker wires running to the speakers, then find the same wires in each front kick panel for the crossovers and call it a day. However, I'm really not sure from that big confusing paragraph what other questions you have, so beyond the head unit bypass, please be a little more specific, as opposed to "whats the best way to set it up in this 00 max."

sorry about the confusion these are my questions:
1. how do i wire the switch, or where should i put it to ground it?
2. my speaker wires need to run into the amps so if i used factory wires i where could i find the wires to connect them all?
my car didn't come with the amp on the rear deck no the sub so as you can see i'm confused my self.
should i find the wires through the kick panels and splice the new wire to those and run the new wire to the 4ch?
For the bypass switch you have to take the green wire that comes from your unit and splice it into any ground wire then buy a toggle switch from Radio shack or somewhere and connect the end of the wire to the switch its called the Ground to Nothing method I think I have a pdf showing how 2 do it Ill try n put it up this evening or pm you. Its not hard at all for though speakers you will have to find a diagram probably of how the car is wired.

Hey send me your email address I will send it to you it will explain everything
okay wanted to do it my self but since i work all day now and dont have as much free day time as i would like ended up getting it put in turned out nice. since i got it put in i only had them put in the headunit and the sub amp. so plan on putting in the speakers and second amp when it gets warmer out or when the stock bose blowes. sounds great so far with this head unit the best part is i can hook my phone up to it and play my music stored on the phone thru the car. put a velcroe ( something like that) mount for my phone next to the ash tray. will post pics in a few have to load them on my car domain page
