New 6th Gen Max

Just bought a 2008 SE... Non-Bose factory system. We want to overhaul all the sound. Most importantly we want to put in a double-din indash nav...we'd like that to have all the bells whistles, Ipod control, blutooth, maybe dvd, etc. Any suggestions on a model HU, or recommended reading for the HU install?

Alot of us members have the pioneer AVIC-D3. I must say its the best HU I've ever owned.

Does replacing the HU result in losing the information center? I read somewhere that the information center is intgrated with the factory HU and replacing the HU would cause loss of everything.

Depends on your budget of course but...
eclpise.avn 6620. or if you want to wait... 726E.
That's what I am putting in when it comes out. I don't know about the information centre... someone on here will chime in.

I have a Kenwood DDX-7019 in my Yukon and love it!
Look into a Kenwood DNX8120. Very solid HU.

yes you'll lose a few displays on the info screen...mainly the stock audio information such at radio station and volume. the AC control area still works fine, as well as the clock and vehicle information.

WhatRUon- Did you ever get that DDin installed in your 08? I'm hopefully going to be doing that early next week if my stuff gets in on time (pioneer 3100dvd). I'd love to know what, if any, kind of problems you ran into, as well as some pics of the finished product. Good luck.

Ordered an AVIC-F90BT should be coming in today. Going to install when we've received all the components (speakers, sub, amps, etc). Should have pics for you before the end of the month.
