Best battery for an 07 w/ audio system

I'll be installing my audio system w/in the next couple of weeks, and was wondering what would be the best dual post battery? I don't know if I can connect everything to the single post factory battery, so I figured I'd upgrade the battey too! I will be installing:
Morel Dotech Ovation 6 comps for front soundstage
Arc 6.5 co-ax for rear fill (in rear doors)
2 Hertz EBX200R 8" boxed subs in trunk.
1 Arc KS300.4 bridged to front comps (350 X 2)
1 Arc KS300.4 bridged for subs
1 Arc KS125.2Mini for rear fill
I'm going to run 1/0 power off of the battery (fused) to a distro block in the trunk.
I'm also going to run 1/0 ground off of the battery to a distro block in the trunk.
I should have enough 1/0 left over to do the "big 3".
I'm looking for a good dual post battery to power this system. I still have the stock alternator.

Some people love Optima's, others hate them...guess it's a roll of the dice. Red top, or Yellow top? The yellow's are the deep cycle batteries, but I'm thinking the red top would be better for me as most of my driving distances are not that far...thus I don't think my alternator would be able to keep up a charge on a deep cycle battery. Or am I way off in my thinking?

How many watts RMS is all this stuff?
Im taking in about 500W RMS which is really nothing and I use a redtop, for more demanding systems go yellowtop and even more demanding systems go with a batcap or stinger. Personally id stick with optima.

I'm looking at about 1600 watts rms between the three amps.

optima is the consumer answer. there's a lot of equal or better batteries for anywhere from less to considerably more. you need to be buying a battery by specs, not brand names. find out the ratings of your oem battery and determine the maximum size you can physically fit. a lot of the time those "high performance" batteries can't keep up with the oem specs, much less offer an improvment. cca, ca, ah, and rc are the specs to be noted. google can tell you what they are if you don't know. i bought 3 bs batteries for my q before i realized that there was nothing stronger than an oem replacment for my application.

brand is pretty much irrelevant since most batteries are made by a hand full of companies and rebadged anyway. get better than oem specs at the lowest cost possible.

Thanks, that's good to know. I think I'll cut the factory battery terminals off of the OEM cables to the battery and get a couple KnuKonceptz battery terminals so I can get my 1/0 on the battery w/o any issues. That was one of the reasons why I was going to replace the battery. I figured if I could get a battery with top posts and side posts then it would make connecting things that much easier.

i just clamped the ring terminal off my 0 gauge to the nut holding the stock cable in place. no need to cut anything. i'll snap a pic tomorrow.

I'm going to be using my extra 1/0 to do the "Big 3" upgrade. I'm going to have 2 runs of 1/0, and 1 10g (fog light HID kit relay harness) running off of the positive side (1 run into trunk, 1 run to alternator). I'm also going to have 2 runs of 1/0 running off of the negative side (I'm going to run 1/0 off the negative into the trunk for the ground, and the second 1/0 from battery to chassis ground).

That's why I was thinking of a dual post battery, and/or using either of these:

i have a blue top

and i dim (at high volumes), because i only have a single 4GA ground to chassis.. also i think my ground for my 4 channel is loose / not making good contact as i put it ON TOP of my mono amp ring terminal

I'll take pics of my complete install. I have to do an install in my buddy's 08 Suburban first, then I'll get to mine. I can't start his until the weather decides to cooperate first !

Exide Orbital "Purple Haze"...hands down a very versatile battery.

Even with very cold winter temperatures here in Canada the battery works great...I am running 1200+ W RMS between 2 amps and I've had the battery for 4 years with no problems. Even before I got my cap. I had no dimming issues at very high loads. They are priced about the same as the Yellow top.

For serious audio applications, I say the best choice would be Optima Yellow Top battery. The Yellow Top is more for multimedia applications such as sound systems in a vehicle. Plus it has deeper cycle than Red Tops, thus improving performance for sound systems.

is the reserve power on these batteries the time we can run audio equipment without having the engine on and draining the battery?. I think the Red Top is rated for 120 min.. or is it 80 min? Am I right?
