1-components for the kicks and just have no speakers in the bose doors (arent the 92 bose components?)
2-components for the kicks and keep the bose front doors as well (so itll be the kicks AND front bose)
3-components in the front bose doors and throw the tweeters in the A-pillars and have no kicks
(if i do component kicks ill probably put the tweeters up in the a pillars or doors anyway because id like to "spread out" the sound over the front end as much as possible)
**also, what exactly are the mid-ranges and mid-basses that i can work into the system too
I still havent decided about the rears yet so well leave them out of the argument for now.

On ward; your first suggestion is what i would do. Mount the 6.5 mid in the kick and then play with where to mount the tweet either down in the kick or a piller.
I think the 92 had 4x6 in the front but I'm not sure they may have been 4" coaxials.
Your second option i'd shy away from. Can it be dun? yeah has it yeah. Does it always work, no. If your gonna do kicks just do all new speakers or only kicks.
Your 3rd option could work mount the mid in the door and tweet in the piller should work pretty well, thats how the new maxs come accually. Or you could get coaxials for the door and x over the tweet higher in the piller and basically use that tweet for hight help if it's a prob.
AS for "spreading the sound" I know what your trying to say but thats not what you need to do. Kicks will give you the best stage peirod. The idea of putting the tweet in the piller is to get better hight and with that comes into play things like angles x over points how many driver size of the dash etc.
Theres alot that goes into.

#1 is the best option with the best chances of success the first try. #2 will most likely mess up the stage by haveing more than one speaker playing the same frequency, and two different makes of speakers as well. #3 If you toss the mid in the door where you currently have a mid and the tweet in the a-pillar you will basically have factory bose sound. Which some people actually like but I am not one of them. You really shouldn't move the tweet that far from the mid if you want them to really sound like thay are mounted in the same place. And the whole idea of kicks is to keep the tweets as close to equidistant as possible. So why bother with kicks if the tweets aren't in them?

You can blend the two speakers mid in kick and tweet in piller with great success. What it usally takes is a 12db per octive instead of the usal 24db why becuse it's not as steap of a cutoff.
There really is alot that goes into it.

and after some thought i think will probably go with 1 or 3....lol im not looking to get as complicated as you guys do in your competitions, just a little bit more "tasteful" than factory sound. If i do go with kicks, will rear speakers conflict with it all that much? Or if i do option 3 would rears conflict? (remember i will probably do 2 10" subs...Im liking SWEETSOUND2001's sub setup where he has the 2 subs in a V shape firing through the armrest into the car:
trunk
____/\____ <--2 subs firing inside
inside of car

Despite the fact that it would be the 4th or 5th gen bose setup it still isn't great. If you are going to build a kick the whole idea of a kick came about from people wanting the left and right image to be as equidistant as possible. This way the sound gets to your ears as near the same time as possible. If you leave the tweet high on the dash, a-pillar, top of door area you lose the benefit of kicks. It's better to have a kick with just the tweet properly aimed and the mid in the door, if you want a really simple kick. The rear speakers won't compete if you have the kicks amplified and not the rears or set the balance properly.

:roll eyes: ugh...so many decisions.....basically what im looking for is to have good quality sound all around with a little more flare added to it (meaning a little more innovative than my current setup with more than just the 4-every-sound speakers) My dads 2k blazer with factory system has 2 speakers up on the dash, 2 down on the front door and 2 on the back doors. The front end sound is amazing with the sound "spread out" like that so i may go that way with my setup....components with mids down on the front doors and tweeters in the A's and yes my 6x9s in the back and 10" subs
