Viper 791xv help

EDIT: UPDATE on post #5. Any suggestions

I have this alarm on my 4th gen. The battery died while the alarm was armed, so now when I go to connect a new battery in it just goes off. After some searching I found that you have to cut it off with the valet switch.

My question are
A) What is the process for disarming it with the valet switch?

B) Do I have to connect the new battery and let the alarm go off while I disarm it with the valet switch?

just hit unlock on the viper 791xv's remote it will disarm the alarm.. OR if you dont have a remote and you need to disarm the alarm.. I believe you need to hold the valet button and start the car. Or you might need to put the key to the ACC position then hold the valet button, then try and start it.

Update
I did what mendon99 said and it worked. I went to start it yesterday and got nothing. When i turn the key, I don't even get the lights on the dash. I tested the battery and it constantly reads 12 volts. I think the kill switch is activated and I dont know how to turn it off. Any help is appreciated.

well, it would have to be an ignition kill if the ignition isn't turning on with the key.. but usually its a starter kill thats installed with these alarms.

can you get to your key cylinder wires under the dash?

Your best bet is if you know where the alarm brain is at just unplug all the power harness and wait a few mins and plug it back in. You will have to re program your settings and if your remote is out of sink then you will have to reprogram that as well.

If all else else fails, i will have to find the harness(es) and unplug them

I just checked the ignition switch and the wires from it are spliced into the XCRS 500m. I don't if that could be it or not

If I disconnect the harnesses from the main brain box, will that reset everything and possibly solve my problem?

maybe, but I doubt it

You may have a bad ignition switch. got any very local alarm shops? pay a guy on the side to look at it. I did this for people all the time that had issues like this, after work..

any competent installer will be able to tell you if your ignition switch is bad or its the RS causing the issue

It is fixed. It was a combination of the ignition switch and 140 amp battery fusible link
