Mounting Alarm Brain?

Mounting Alarm Brain?
I noticed the new DEI alarms have the built-in shock sensor inside of the brain.
Where is the best location to install the brain to get the best sensitivity for the shock sensor?

If your looking at getting a DEI Viper the shock sensor sucks bad.your best bet is like i did the driver side kick panel. If your doing the remote start your going to have to extend those wires about 4 feet also be very careful with the key sense wire for the remote start if you need the wiring diagram for the 00-03 max pm me i got the whole set

A friend of mine said to install it onto a large wiring harness. Never install it onto the body. If the sensitivity is bad, use an external shock sensor (kinda negates the purpose that DEI mounted it inside the brain and with the capability of remote adjustment).
I have a '96 I30. Does this have a key sense wire? It has an OEM alarm system. I guess I gotta disable that before installing the alarm.

the sensors built into the last couple years worth of DEI alarms work just fine, no idea what cjandura is talking about. He probably doesn't know either..
zip tieing it to a fat factory wiring harness securely (using mounting tabs) works fine.
you can't use the key sense wire on your 96, you must disarm the car via the unlock wire. You'll be running wires into the drivers door anyway for doorlock control.
GL if you've never done this, I'd suggest finding someone who's done it once before

It doesn't matter where you install it, if the car gets bumped hard enough it will trigger the alarm no matter where it is. As long as you don't dangle it from the ceiling on a wire, it will work fine.

it will be very difficult to adjust (and not require continual adjustment) if its just 'anywhere', sorry. DEI even suggests you mount it solidly.
