New HU install

Stupid blose crapped out on me...................thinking of getting the Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT DVD/navigation receiver; but have some questions regarding the unit and installation.

Before you nail me on questions, i did searched and got so many different answers and now im lost.

- These units any good or should i look into an Alpine or Kenwood products?

- Do you recommend the OEM GLE bezel or other brands? Got mix reviews searching. Where should i look at to purchase, nothing in the classified section?

- Besides getting a wiring harness, what other harness do i need to keep the steering wheel controls and to play the current bose speakers? The Bose speakers are 1 ohms and most HU are 4 ohms. Dont really want to get new speakers. Also any recommendation on IPOD adapters? Any recommendations on where to purchase?

Thanx

Also check out the Axxess ASWC. It automatically programs itself on most vehicles and it supports firmware updating for compatibility issues. Oh and they were cheaper on eBay than the PAC one. The following site has product links as well as programming / wiring instructions.

Pioneer is fine

You mean GXE. If you can find one, they're the best looking. But you pay for it. (no less than $75 on classifieds or $125 new). The alternative is Scosche or Metra double din kit for about $17-$20.

Wire harness is Metra 70-7551 for Bose amp integration. This will resolve the 2ohm/4ohm problem.

You'll need an antenna adapter, and whatever dash kit you pick.

The previous posts took care of the steering wheel interface.

Good luck

Yes, ASWC works for 03 Maximas. Best steering wheel interface I've installed thus far.
