Question: Will a Viper 797xv remote work with a Viper 771xv unit?

I thought I remembered back in the day that they were compatible, but I wanted to double check with the experts on this.

I need to buy a replacement remote, but I'd rather buy one with a screen this time, hence the 791xv.

Thanks in advance!

Did you mean 791xv** ? instead of 797?

Still, the answer is no. The antenna's being the exact same is usually a good indication of whether it will work, if you dont have a Directechs account (they have a transmitter look up tool)

Well, every once in a while you find that people use upgraded parts listed as incompatible when in fact they work just fine. This, apparently, is not one of those situations Thank you for looking it up though.

I had a feeling, thank you and yes, I meant 791xv. I derped.

I'll just order the same remote then, mine is getting on my nerves!
