Viper 800esp

I am thinking about getting a new alarm for my 97 SE because I am getting a comp. stereo. I'm thinking about getting the viper 800esp. Does anyone know what the retail for one of these is and is it a good alarm? How much would should it cost to install? Is there another alarm I should consider? Tell me anything you know that might help because I don't much about alarms. Thanks

Most shops have them for about $379.99 installed. For the same price installed you can get a Clifford Concept 100 with tons more features like waterproof remotes, ignition and starter kill, glass and shock, stuff you don't see on a Viper 800.

i agree with that, and clifford builds their relays into a relay box thing which makes the install cleaner instead of using normal relays that clutter up the dash. aslo if you want to get the 800esp, think about the python 3000 it's pretty much the same thing as the 800esp but has all the newer features. the newer features go on the python 3000 first, then they put it on the 800esp.. i have the 800esp and am having problems with it

So, the clifford alarm is a better setup? I should go with that instead of the viper?

Both are very good alarms. Both are made by the same company, DEI. The Clifford has more standard security features than the Viper, has waterproof remotes, has starter and ignition kill and more. The Clifford line is DEI's more high end division than Viper.

Ok, I looked at the website for a little bit. I see there is 4 different concepts 100, 200, 400 and 600. I am assuming the 600 is the best? Should I get that one? I want a top of the line alarm. I also see Intelliguard, arrow 3 and g4 technology. What do you think of those compared to the concept model? Out of all those alarms which would be best for the money? Thanks for all your help.

I only carry the Concepts 100, 200, and 600's. Theeir G4 technology is best. Both starter and ignition kills, and this is great too, a remote start feature that works when you have your engine off say at a Maxima meet and the stereo is going pretty loud and your Optima Yellow Top is losing strength below 9 volts (I think), the Clifford alarm will automatically remote start and charge up your battery back up so it doesn't go dead on you. Pretty cool feature. I love the remote windows too...The Concept 100 usually goes for $379.99 installed at most places plus or minus a few bucks here and there. You can add whatever you want to it for a little bit more...or choose the 600 which comes with remote start and remote windows standard! On the 100, it's an option . Hope this helps...

I can't sell alarms over the counter
per our dealer agreement with DEI. If there is a Tweeter store near you I might be able to help.

At one point, I was going with a Viper 550 LF and adding CarCommII to it. CarComm allows you to use your phone to remote start your car or, if jacked, shut it down. It has a 3000 mile range.
