i'm not sure that the details of my whole stereo are relevant, but i'll list them just in case....I have an Alpine headunit (about a year old; can't remember the exact model right now) and an iSimple adapter in my 03 max. I have a system, kicker fronts, rears and tweeters, alpine amp and 12" sub and capacitor. recently, i've noticed an extreme loss in bass from my stereo, but only when i'm using my 4th gen iPod and the iSimple. if i'm playing cds, the system bumps. also, i've noticed that the plug sometimes becomes a little loose at the base of my iPod (or iPhone, if I'm using that) and it causes a lot of static from the speakers. anyone else run into issues with the iSimple? it's only been in the car for about a year. thanks in advance. i did try searching, but didn't find anything helpful, and googling isimple or isimple problems, etc... did not give me anything helpful, either.

 

I don't know if the ipod cable would have the same problem as a 3.5mm jack, but this same thing happened in my truck with a standard 3.5 mm aux jack. The ground in the cable was severed at the plug end and it had to be bent just the right way to make contact and sound right. Hope this helps.

 

make sure ur adapter is grounded, connections are good, if not maybe its the eq on the ipod it self,
