Hook up an amp to the stock bose HU?

Hook up an amp to the stock bose HU?
can i hook up a good sized amp to the stock bose HU so i can power my 1 12" Cerwin Vega Vega series sub? or will i have to take the deck out and revamp my whole speaker system and use my alpine deck?
otherwise u gotta bypass the integrated amps on the subs that are included with the bose system

grrr yea but if i hook the alpine deck straight in can i not touch the stock bose speakers until i am ready? or do i have to rewire/replace them all now.
btw where is the sub i keep hearing bout in the car? i looked last night and couldn't find it...(mind you i just picked the car up last night... and it was snowing when i went to look)
