installing rio mp3 player

I have Nissan Maxima SE'96 with Bose sound system (including AM/FM, CD, and cassette player). I am thinking about getting a Rio car mp3 player (see http://store.sonicblue.com/). The instruction says that Rio player fits into DIN bay exactly as any other head unit. I am wandering if it is possible to keep the original Bose head unit and install Rio player in place of the storage compartment just below the head unit. Will it be possible to hook up Rio player to the Bose head unit? Has anybody tried to do this? If it is possible, will I also need any additional components? Thx a lot.

ugh......I wouldn't count on it. From what I have been reading, the only input on the Bose system in for a CD changer, and the connection is really wierd for it. Not only would it require an adapter, but also some sort of a box to convert a bunch of signals to the proper type...

see my post above about the line-input to a Bose system.

I currently have a Rio SP250 prtable MP3 cd player in my car, using a cassett adapter for the radio. It sounds terrible, and I am trying to find another way to input sound.

Good luck and keep us posted if you come up with any solutions.
