Amplifier clipping and in protect mode sometimes
I just installed 2 12 kickers running to my double din touchscreen head unit Pioneer AVH p2300 and 1600W SSL Amp. But it would play for half an hr and then after that it starts going into protected mode. Is possible due overheating, wiring or is it dead? But when I let it cool down for 10-15 mins I can bumping for shorter time.
How can I tell if it the overheating issue because when I touch it I know it warm I can keep my hands on for least 7 seconds.
I've checked my grounding wiring it shouldn't have any looses wiring.
Oh and by the way I'm running 2 channel amp with 4 gauge wiring kit I'm not running any wiring to speakers only amp to sub and radio. I don't have Bose speakers... I don't think since I don't see speaker up-top of my back rear window.

Assuming the subs are about 350RMS? That amp just can't handle it. Likely the amp can put out about 750RMS of clean power at its peak which simply is not enough. Turn the input down and see if it helps otherwise start shopping for an Infinity amp. The 611a should suit your needs perfectly. Ive had it for years and in the southern summer heat it has never let me down powering 2 12's

Okay guys... I just got a replacement amp been working solid but then just the first time after 2 days used it went into protect mode this morning soon as I start the car and bump the song at high volume soon as the bass hit. But then I restart by shutting off the car and turn it on then it working haven't had gone to protect mode lately. Do you think it the current my car battery can't handle that much power?
But so far there was no clipping sound anymore so that was one of failure amp. My friend told me capacitor isn't worth it.

The car is still quite new so it takes awhile to put more audio stuff into my car... sometime soon I'm planning on getting some goodies!

Okay it been 2 days and I kept forgetting to post here about if I get a protect mode I would post the result well.. guess what it went on again and again once awhile even sometime all the time.. I can't even get pass 28 volume out of 50. So most people my friends have said that amp cannot handle my subs woofer at 2 ohms. So I guess I'm going to buy a Kenwood 1800W 900 RMS @ 2 Ohms! What do you guys think?

I just ordered a new one Kenwood KAC-9105D Class D-Mono 1800W
900 RMS @ 2 Ohms Stable
people have said this kenwood is very stable with 2 Ohms. What are you thoughts about that amp since I already purchased it.
I know it only one channel amp and I'm using that for sub woofer only but someday soon I'm gonna get another amp for door speakers and mids/high. The car is still new only almost 2 months old lol.
I know Kenwood has always been a popular brand for any audio equipment.
Here the link I got it off http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kenwood-KAC-9105D-Class-D-Mono-Car-Amplifier-Car-Audio-Amplifier-1800W-KAC9105D-/310427690783?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item4846eea71f&vxp=mtr great price great quality amp 4.5 out of 5 stars!

That amp should do. Dual voice coil speakers correct? You will need to wire your voice coils in series and the speakers in parallel and that will be a 2ohm load and as long as you dont turn the gain/input all the way up you should be fine
