Ok, my passenger side tweeter on one song, it is only one song it does it on, sounds real screechy when a certain frequency is played. It never used to do this, and it doesn't do this on any other song, but it does it only sometimes does it and it only does it when it is turned up pretty loud. Any suggestions?

Could easily be a blown tweet, but not sure unless I know what kind of setup you got. There is a chance that it is a weird surround sound thing; like on techNINE's cd the chorus drifts left and right. Any other glitches in the system, and are you running subs?

I am running MB Quart RSB 218 Seperates in the front, powered by a PPI PC4400 Amp. . . I have looked at the tweet and it doesn't look blown, but this just bothers me. And it doesn't always happen either. . . The speaker has to be running for a little while before it will do this. I have never turned my system loud enough to distort the speakers, which makes me question how I could have blown it, but I am running out of possibilities.

Switch the speaker wiring at the amp to see if the wierd sound occurs on the other side of the car or stays on the same side.

Think maybe its the polarity, and it is only evident when the frequency rate is put to the test.

Well, I can't make this reproduce itself anymore. . . Next time it does, I'll try switching the RCA's and checking that out. . .

Also, Surge, what is the polarity? Do you mean you think I wired the + to the minus sign and such? I am a little confused.

MB QUARTS

Noticed your sig, don't think you should be having any problems. The polarity is the +/-, and doing it wrong can make the speakers sound less then adequete. Try flipping the connections, hopefully this will take care of any problems.

I know it isn't polarity. . . I am sure I would have noticed this at an earlier time as when the polarity is switched it would drown out the sound of other speakers. . . I have also checked just to make sure, but unless the installer screwed up, the correct wires are in the correct place.

Dang, could just be a scratched cd if it is only one song. After that a breakdown of all the connections may be needed, it is possible for one bad connection to affect another.

Yeah, I have determined that the hard way that one connection affects the other. . . that is why I am replacing my RCA cables. . . One was pulled too much by my installers and it just had a horendous whine, and it was just making it bad all around. . . Since I still have whine in my speakers after replacing one, I think it is best just to replace the other. . . I will keep looking as for why the tweeter sounds like that though, it hasn't been doing it lately either.
