Help with DVC and 2ch Amp
Hey guys! So I just got a DVC sub and a 2ch amp, their ratings are as follows:
Sub Woofer: Targa Street+ 6000w Dual 4 ohm
RMS: 800w x2
Power: 900w x1
Amplifier: XTC Audio Hooka Series AKA 3500w
RMS: 75w x2 @ 4ohm
RMS: 120w x2 @ 2ohm
RMS: 240w x1 @ 4ohm (bridged)
Now I know the wattages aren't on par at all although the amplifier might be with me for +- 4 months. I really want to run this sub woofer though. So how I hooked it up was positive to positive and negative to negative on the sub woofer itself and positive to positive and negative to negative from the amp.
My question is I did run it in negative to positive on the sub woofer itself and positive to positive and negative to negative from the amp although that setup made the amp go into safe mode as I noticed which is why I am using the way I said first.
Is this correct wiring?
I also am wondering about a channel to each voice coil as it is a 2ch amp if that would work too? There is also only one gain setting for those who want to say you need to make sure both gains are set perfectly.
With the way its currently configured I haven't had a safe mode trip or anything and the sub sounds good.
