2k2 without Bose

I'm interested in replacing the receiver in my 2k2 SE but still want to retain the use of the steering wheel stereo controls as well as the trip computer. Crutchfield indicated to me that a "patch" exists which will link the aftermarket stereo to the steering wheel controls. The catch is I must choose an aftermarket receiver that comes with a wireless remote. Has anyone successfully changed out their stereo in the 2k2 AND retained use of the stereo controls and trip computer?

Anyone know about keeping the steering wheel audio controls on a 2k2 SE with an aftermarket head unit? Or do you just lose the steering wheel controls and have to work with the HU as is?

Nope. You will not lose the controls as long as the HU is remote controllable. The shop that is doing my system (I have a 2002 Max w/o Bose) told me that since I have a HU (Eclipse 4441) that is remote controlled, I can keep my steering wheel controls.
