Bose problem...

Well I have had some problems with my bose head unit in the past, but the current one is very frustrating.... It will not stay on... It turns on and off at any time, and then you can turn it back on, but it may shut off two seconds later. I dont know what it could be, I can hear the relay clicking, and eveyrthign works fine when its on, but I am not sure what it could be??? Any ideas??

Also, is anyone selling a stock cassette head unit?? If so let me know with a price...
Thanks

Re: Bose problem...

Have you checked the wiring just to make sure everything is hooked up solid? Just a thought.

Okay, mine just started doing this too. I've got an '89 SE. When I turned it on just now, it was totally reset (it forgot the FM station I was on and came on with AM). Then, after about 10 seconds, it turned itself off. I tried several times, but it would not stay on for more than a few seconds. Prior to today, it was working okay. Anyone fixed this before?

yep....

I checked the wiring and its all fine, everythign is in snugly.... The radio doesnt reset though thats the strange thing, it just turns off and on, I mean all I can thik of is a loose solder in teh board but I am not about to be tearin it apart..... just gonna get a new one....

I may have figured out my problem. I'd been working on the car a lot, and the battery was starting to go dead. I had to jumpstart the car, and once it had been running for a while, the radio seemed to stop having the turning-off problem. I'll just cross my fingers that the problem stays away.

Okay, I think I spoke too soon. The radio only seems to stay on after it's been warmed up. This could be a bad solder joint. More investigation to be done...
