1200$ / Priceless......

combination
of.... my best friends expedition stopped, and my car - not stopped, and A.D.D.
hehe
I was looking at some girls in the lane next to me, and thought my friend had already turned. Next thing I know I have the brakes locked up (with the wretched squeeling tires sound - only wretched when trying to stop...) and a bang. It did NOTHING to his expedition, and a small, 1200$ dent in mine!!!
that stinks

Re: Re: $1200...???
Who is paying? you or the Insurance Company?
if you are paying?:
go here http://www.copartfinder.com and try to find a car same year and color as yours and buy the parts. also check local junk yards.
if you Insurance Co is paying?
get the check for $1200 and then follow the instructions above.
$1200 they are charging you for:
Brand New Hood - $200
Brand New 1/4 panel - $200
Brand New clearance light - $75 (pair)
Paint - $400
Labor - $325
and then they probably end up using used parts any damn way..

not yet - I haven't had it done, that was the estimate. They said that most all the cost was in labor and paint and crap to redo it, not for the actual hammering it out or whatever they do.

wouldn't it had been cheaper to get a quarter panel and hood of the same color car from a junkyard? i am guess that would have ran you about $200

1200 is not that bad a price, considering that they are gonna have to sand down the hood and the quarter panel and repaint them. If they use 3 or 4 coats of paint and clear coat then they gave you a fair a price. You can probably get it done cheaper but it wont be done right. If you want it done right your gonna have to pay for it.
