Bose CD player Err message...CRAP!!
Bose CD player Err message...CRAP!!
A few weeks ago I was driving along all happy in my max and it quit playing a cd on the tenth song, so I popped out the cd and cleaned and put it in, it wouldn't play it at all, just gave me the Err notice, it was a homemade cd so I tried a real one, no luck.
When I got home, I took a can of compressed air and blew out the cd slot, no luck. So I think to myself, crap.
Anybody have any ideas what this might be? I don't have one of those cleaning CD's, but I will get one.

mines did the same bullsh*t but NOT BEFORE scratching the mid area of my cd...it sucked so bad, but i bought a new double din head unit (kenwood DPX 4020), u can see info on the results...that may be your only option...nissan charges mad dough to fix and u might as well add an extra 50 to 100 bucks and just buy a new system that u can work wit instead of the crappy bose....

I was just wondering if you had problem with your Bose unit before when it rained or when the air was very humid. It doesn't play too well for me when it is too hot or cold out or as I just experienced now--when it is too wet out.
I took my car out for a drive before and none of my home-made cds or original cds would play in the car...kept giving me that ERR message
I read the factory manual and it says that there could be problems with it when it is "extremely humid."
any ideas? my cd player has been working fine thus far.
thanks for any comments.

Well, i don't have a bose system, but my cd player does that exact same thing. It does it only on recordable cd's though. I think its just because i have a 4 year old car, and the cd player isn't setup to read every format out there, especially cd's that are created in 2002. That is why i am hoping getting the eclipse cd player HU will fix that problem. I also notice that my cd's get MAD hot when in the factory cd player.

My bose used to have a similar problem. If I left a cd in the player and turned my car off, it wouldn't come back out. Also I would have problems with my display not working. Well I came up with the perfect solution... I hit the shish out of the motherf*cker... then the cd would pop out nicely. If my display wouldn't work, I would tap on the display until it would work... gotta love bose! oh... I don't recommend doing that yourself... I don't plan on having it much longer, so I don't put much value towards it...
