Is this usually a 1 day project for you or do you have your car gutted over a couple of days? I plan on sound dampening my car soon but I don't want the car to be out of commission. What do you recommend? Do things one at a time? TIA. Oh yeah, that carpet padding that you used on your Max, where did you get that again? What lbs is that? Any better and heavier than the stuff from Home Depot? I'd love to see your dampening project in person so that I may get some tips. Thanks again.

Anton, now that's how I like to see a fine automobile. I am still jealous of a garage that can fit a car with the doors open!
Reference the 3 inch gap between to of rear deck and bottom, I would use fiberglass resin. Build it up good and strong for a perfect seal. Attach the top of the box, ie the baffle to the bottom of the deck, but first layer it in masking tape. Then use clay, plumbers putty, masking tape or whatever to outline an outer frame for the build up. You could build up the inner ring with masking tape - at least two layers. Then drill one or two holes in the deck lid to inject resin. You can fill a cake frosting decorating bag with resin (with filler material, sawdust, glass microspheres, whatever) and inject it right in the hole until the ring is filled. That way you have a solid ring right up to the opening. As you know I have been filling numerous holes in the area's around my rear deck. And when womething has to be clamped around an above said hole, it needs to be stucturally sound, not squishy. Then when you actually install the box you can use a more normal 1/32 to 1/8 inch gasket material.
Next, what is that metal circular thing in the center behind the rear seat? Is it the fuel pump cover, like under the seat of the maxima? Is that tool box mine? That roller with the black rubber adhesive stains looks very familiar.
You could probably put the servo controller in one of the rear quarter panels. May even fit an amp in each side. You would just need to be careful how you run the power wire so that it doesn't cross the RCA's - because both sides of the car would be used for both. I would run the power around the back of the trunk to the smaller amp.

Oops, forgot to revisit the link. Talk back at you later.
Yeah, how is that thing coming? I am almost done on mine. Putting everything in tomorrow. There is a little meet in Hunington Beach and there will be a bunch of people with some good Rainbow / ARC / ID equipment. I'll e-mail you the place and time, I'll be there so you can check how my system sounds.
